BSNF Task 6

BSNF Task 6

General Contractor: Hamilton Construction
Solutions: Micropiles, Drilled Shafts, Sheetpile
Location: Kelso, WA

This project included the construction of three rail bridges, multiple retaining walls, as well as a crash wall. The crash wall is positioned between active mainlines and bridge piers and built directly under the SR 432 bridge which gave a 38-foot ceiling during construction. All work was adjacent to the main track with 50+ trains per day. Pacific Foundation was tasked with constructing the foundation system for the crash wall under the existing bridge which consisted of driving sheet pile to 60ft, installing 60 micropiles, and drilling 54”x100’ deep drilled shafts using the casing and wet slurry method in loose silts.
